The Council for the Exploitation of the Places of Disposal or Utilization of Household Waste in the Nicosia District, has taken over the operation and management of the eight Green Points and one Mobile Green Point in the Nicosia district, as of April 1, 2022.
Citizens can deposit acceptable waste at the Green Points for FREE, as long as it is of domestic origin and arrives at the Green Point in separate streams or in a way that can be separated from the citizens when depositing it in the boxes at the Green Points.
The waste streams you can bring to the Nicosia Green Points are:
1.Bulky waste (Furniture, Mattresses, Carpets, Rugs)
2.Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
3.Green, thin branches)
4.Plastic containers
5.Plastic
6.Paper / carton (newspapers, office paper)
7.Glass
8.Aluminium
9.Metal objects (scrap, radiators etc.)
10.Wood
11.Textiles / clothing
12.Toys
13.X-rays
14.Thermometers
15.Pharmaceutical drugs
16.Lamps
17.Cleaning products, cleaning agents
18.Colours (paint), inks, adhesives, resins
19.Edible oils and fat
20.Batteries (vehicles & household)
21.Electric batteries and accumulators
22.Motor oils
23.Inactive debris / DIY materials (rubble, cements, tiles, plasters)
In addition to the above waste streams, citizens can deposit waste at Green Spots: Aggregates/ Rubble, Do It Yourself (tiles, sanitary ware etc.) and Excavation, Construction and Demolition Waste (EDW) for domestic use and disposal in limited quantities.
Each citizen can carry up to 100kg per visit, with a maximum weight of 1 ton within a six-month period.
Green Points are a destination only for citizens' domestic waste and will under no circumstances accept waste from commercial activities, agricultural activities, contractors, industries or other professional bodies.

During the Easter period, the Green Points will be closed from Good Friday until Easter Monday.
