Green Points are organised areas where citizens can leave special household waste, such as televisions and other electrical or electronic equipment, mattresses, furniture, green pruning or other bulky items, completely free of charge.
 
Green Points are a destination only for citizens' domestic waste and will under no circumstances accept waste from commercial activities, agricultural activities, contractors, industries or other professional bodies.
 
Through the operation of green points we reduce the uncontrolled and illegal disposal of waste, protect the natural environment and public health, implement integrated waste management and save natural resources for future generations.

The Nicosia District has Green Points in Ergates, Kokkinotrimithia, Peristerona, Astromeritis, Linou, Alambra, Strovolos and Malounta.

Nicosia Green Points

The Council for the Exploitation of the Places of Disposal or Utilization of Household Waste in the Nicosia District, has taken over the operation and management of the eight Green Points and one Mobile Green Point in the Nicosia district, as of April 1, 2022.

Citizens can deposit acceptable waste at the Green Points for FREE, as long as it is of domestic origin and arrives at the Green Point in separate streams or in a way that can be separated from the citizens when depositing it in the boxes at the Green Points.

Under no circumstances can waste from commercial activities, agricultural activities, contractors, industries or other professional bodies be deposited in the Green Points.
